How to Create a New DARCwallet

Our newly available DARCwallet 4.0.0 is the best one yet!

It’s an exciting time for the Konstellation project. We’ve just launched our venture studio. We’re in the midst of fine-tuning the Konstellation Network based on Cosmos technology. We’re incubating our first suite of investment products. Our new baby VegaX received investment from BitMEX incubator Chinaccelerator.

It’s getting hectic around here! Today we are adding to the list of our recent accomplishments with the announcement that the newest version of our flagship software product, DARCwallet 4.0.0, is now available for download!

The long-term vision for DARCwallet™ is that it will be the first interface that Konstellation Network ecosystem participants can use to interact with DARC tokens. The DARCwallet™ will serve as the wireframe upon which other technology offerings will be integrated into the Konstellation Network. Data analytics, over-the-counter exchange, decentralized exchange, innovative investment products like those offered by VegaX, and KYC/AML checks when necessary are just some of the services that everyday investors and fund managers alike should eventually be able to access from the palm of their hand. Today, DARCwallet™ supports four assets: 1) XEM, the native currency of the NEM blockchain, 2) DARC, our original NEM-based mosaic, 3) BNB, the native currency of Binance Chain, and 4) DARC-24B, the BEP2 protocol token for the Konstellation Network.

If you have any of those assets and want a ticket to ride on the Konstellation Network, follow these steps below to set up your DARCwallet™.

The new DARCwallet 4.0.0 is ready to go!

Step 1: Download the DARCwallet™.

You can choose a desktop version for either Windows or Mac machines. The mobile version of DARCwallet™ is slated to be out later this year.

Step 2: Unzip or unpack your downloaded file.

If you chose to download a Windows version of the software, the file will be called ‘DARCwallet Setup 4.0.0.exe’ or something similar.

If you chose to download a Mac version of the software, the file will be called ‘DARCwallet-4.0.0.dmg’ or something similar.

Step 3: Install your application.

Click on the icon that was placed on your desktop (Windows) or within your application folder (Mac) and open your new application.

Step 4: Create your new account.

When you first open your new DARCwallet™, the following screen shows:

Click on ‘CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT’ and another screen reveals itself:

Click on ‘CREATE NEW’ to setup your login and password information, which you can do at this screen:

Choose an ‘Account name’ you can remember and a secure ‘Password’ that you can remember. Make sure you enter the password you chose a second time in the ‘Confirm password’ field!

Now you’re done! You have a login/password credential that will safeguard your activity in your DARCwallet™.

Your screen should now look something like this:

Step 5: Setup a NEM wallet address.

Let’s setup an address for you to receive digital assets on the NEM public blockchain. First, click on ‘Add wallet’ and the following pop-up screen will appear. Since we’re setting up a NEM address, you’ll want to select ‘NEM Address (Supports DARC & XEM)’.

Now click on the ‘CREATE’ button.

Congratulations! You have created a NEM wallet address. Your DARCwallet should now look like this in the upper left hand corner of your ‘Wallet’ section.

You can now receive DARC and XEM tokens to your address. Just hover your mouse over either of these assets to reveal your public address where you can send digital assets.

Step 6: Setup a Binance Chain wallet address.

In order to enjoy full functionality of your DARCwallet™, you will also need to set up a wallet address that supports digital assets from the Binance Chain.

To do this, click on the ‘Add wallet’ button to the right of the icons for your NEM digital assets to reveal the same pop-up window you saw before. This time, select Binance Chain Address (Supports DARC-24B & BNB) from the dropdown menu.

Afterwards, click ‘CREATE’ to make a new Binance Chain address. Once you have created this new address, you will be given a seed phrase. Please take note: It is very important that you write down these words in order on a piece of paper and store it in a safe place. You can use the seed phrase to restore your Binance Chain wallet on DARCwallet and also on other wallets that support Binance Chain.

Now the top of your ‘Wallet’ window should look like this:

Congratulations! If you see the four icons above, it means that you have successfully set up both your NEM wallet address and Binance Chain wallet address in your DARCwallet™.

From now on, your software should automatically update when our developers push new code that will unlock successively more features. You don’t have to do a thing! * Except engage in standard backup and security measures.
